PFINGSTVIGIL, Herz-Jesu-Kirche Graz

Four cameras and a couple more microphones helped capturing „PFINGSTVIGIL“ on the 16th of May, 2016.

On my first live-shoot ever, me and my team (consisting of DoP Paul Bono, camera operator Joël Hainzl and Matthäus Jandl and camera assistant Noah Westermayer) had to face some severe challenges regarding both light and sound:

Due to the dark light conditions and the subpar acoustic in one of Graz biggest and most famous churches, we had troubles capturing the event in a way true to the original. Despite all those challenges and the fact, that it was nearly impossible to record crystal clear sound, the result is more than acceptable.

In post, the most demanding task was to handle more than three hours of material and break it down to a brisk cut (5 minutes) without changing the original atmosphere.

After all, I’m more than happy with the result and very thankful for another rich experience. Thanks to everyone who made this video and the event „PFINGSTVIGIL“ happen, you all did a marvelous job!
